Whups, huge file. Ohwell. Inked it, now for colour, and then text, and then a bit of sparkle (Photoshop).
Oh, it's 2am.
Hm.

Stuff and things
It's late, I am tired, I have had an absolutely shit day full of crying and anxiousness and work, here, have some art.
The first is going to be printed on a farewell tea-towel for one of our teachers, Rob, who is retiring very soon (he's really cool). Also it's better than it sounds.
The second is because I accidentally volunteered to do a poster for our print fair to raise money for our exhibition. I dunno', I just wanted to draw a pretty naked lady. There's another guy in our class who seemed pretty up for the job, and he actually, y'know, makes prints, so he'll probably get it. Whatever.
I AM A BIG BALL OF NEGATIVITY.
Also I think my toothache is coming back, and my anxiety, and auuh. At least if I have to make an emergency appointment Sunny said she'd be more than happy to come along, so I don't need to spend another twenty minutes crying on my bed agonising over whether or not I should cancel the appointment.
Hey Black Books was good.
Tomorrow will be better.

Coffee?
I've re-inked this cover illustration for one of my projects, and I'm colouring it now : ) This will hopefully be one of five, wish me luck!
It looks so much better inked properly o 3o Woo.

Look! Colours!
Yo! I've spent the last few days colouring these- just experiments for my finals. I've never used coloured lines before, and I think they came out really well. The lines are thinner than I usually use, and there's less weight to them.
I really like the second one! : D That's Seth up top, Vampire guy, and down below, Star : ) Star is an origional character, like Seth, and he's pretty neat. He's my anxiety illustrated, which is weird because he looks nice and calm, and serene, I think. But... look, there's malice behind those eyes...
Oooh *waves hands*

I feel so behind!
Sorry! So many pictures, auh, and despite that, I still feel really behind, which is awful. Atleast I've got to a point now that I know for sure what I'm doing, and how I'm doing it. So, to explain,
The top three pictures I drew in a Travelodge because, honestly, what else can you do in a travelodge? They're horrible.
The five after that are sketches for comic covers, staring Acheron and Kadrian, after that is a floor plan of the Angel Cafe, and then a page of Seth, just to clarify what he looks and dresses like, and then the roughs for the comic.
I haven't put work up here in ages, geeze'... anyway, enjoy! I'm back to Ripper Street and hot milk and honey, tomorrow is a new day, and I can finally really get to work on my projects.

Sherlock Sherlock John Moriarty Sherlock
I almost forgot about these! I have this habit of forgetting about stuff once it's done, my friend Nico called me about a week ago and after telling him that I'd got my hair cut and that it was now pink, and that I'd just handed my portfolio in yadda yadda yadda I then mentioned that I had a couple of illustrations in a graphic novel, and he said, Why didn't you open with that?! You told me about your hair first! Hah, oops. It's because I'd finished them weeks ago, stuff had happened since then, and I hadn't had to worry about them since : )
I finished these last week and put them up around my uni a few days ago with my friend Anneli. I've made #ibelieveinsherlockholmes flyers before, just before summer in fact, and I wanted to re-do them for Christmas : ) I really like the re-done versions, there's a lot more colour to them, and I like the typography, I think they're a lot better than the last two I did. The quotes are all from the last episode of the second series, and are said by the characters pictured.
So, here we have...
I Believe In Sherlock Holmes
John Watson Was Right
Moriarty Was Real
My favourite is still the Moriarty graphic, he's such a brilliant character, I am so biased.
Comics and Plans
The other project I had to do last term was a short comic, and because of the Sherlock illustrations it needed to be especially short, so I came up with this. It's basically just one of my many mornings, battling sleep and trying to clamber out of bed.
But, in other and more interesting news... I'm hoping to do a MA in screenwriting at the U.E.A in Norwich (which would be good because I wouldn't have to move again, woo!). The course is a year long, or two years part time, and is £5,000 (that's £2,500 a year part time), it's a lot, plus rent, which is about £3,000 a year, not including food costs. I'm hoping to get a job when I graduate, and then apply that september, just so I have the money to do it. I'd really like to do the one year course, but it's so expensive that it's looking much more likely that I'd do the part time course instead. If I can get a schollarship, I think that pays for half of the course which would sure help, so wish me luck with that. Also, I don't remember much about scriptwriting from college, so I'd like to do some research, and the application asks for, hang on...
"a maximum of 5000 words for prose, or up to 20 pages of poetry, or up to 30 pages of dramatic script/screenplay."
I was thinking of writing a Doctor Who episode *__* And then, if I'm accepted, submitting it to the BBC. This probably sounds dumb, but do I care? Hah, nope. I want to do it, and so I'll find a way. This is not to say that I don't want to be an illustrator anymore, I do, that was always the plan, I want to do both. Taking a year out between illustration and screenwriting would also give me the time to finish my book too, and send that out to publishers.
If there's one thing that uni has taught me, it's that I like to keep busy.
